چکیده

In this paper we analyse the computational aspects of a numerical method for solving the Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) for the analysis of the interaction of electromagnetic signals with thinwires structures. Our interest concerns with the design of an efficient parallel implementation of this numerical method which helps physicist to solve the Electric Field Integral Equation for very complex and large thin-wires structures. The development of this parallel implementation has been carried out on distributed memory multiprocessors, with the use of the parallel programming library MPI and routines of PETSc (Portable, Extensible Toolkit for Scientific Computation). These routines can solve sparse linear systems in parallel. Appropriate data partitions have been designed in order to optimize the performance of the parallel implementation. A parameter named relative efficiency has been defined to compare two parallel executions with different number of processors. This parameter allows us to better describe the superlinear performance behavior of our parallel implementation. Evaluation of the parallel implementation is given in terms of the values of the speep-up and the relative efficiency. Moreover, a discussion about the requirements of memory versus the number of processors is included. It will be shown that memory hierarchy management plays a relevant role in the performance of this parallel implementation.

A Comprehensive Mathematical Model for Analysis of WR-Resolvers under Stator Short Circuit Fault

Wound-Rotor (WR) resolvers are the most widely used position sensors in applications with harsh environmental conditions. However, their performance is exposed to failure due to the high risk of short circuit (SC) fault. Although the output current of the resolver is negligible, its thin copper wires increase the probability of the short circuit fault. To avoid the propagation of the turn-to-tu...

A new approach for nonlinear vibration analysis of thin and moderately thick rectangular plates under inplane compressive load

In this study, a hybrid method is proposed to investigate the nonlinear vibrations of pre- and post-buckled rectangular plates for the first time. This is an answer to an existing need to develope a fast and precise numerical model which can handle the nonlinear vibrations of buckled plates under different boundary conditions and plate shapes. The method uses the differential quadrature element...

Coupled Thermoelasticity Impact Response Analysis of Composite Plates with SMA Wires in Thermal Environments

Impact responses of rectangular composite plates with embedded shape memory alloy (SMA) wires are investigated in the present research. The plate is assumed to be placed in a thermal environment; so that in contrast to the available researches in the field, the shape memory and ferroelasticity effects have to be considered also in addition to the superelasticity. The governing equations are der...

An Innovative Method for The Analysis of Structures with Tension-only Members

Due to their dual behavior under tension and compression, structures with tension-only members show non-linear behavior. To analize such structures, it is necessary to use a nonlinear analysis scheme. Nonlinear analysis methods generally use gradual loading techniques with/without modification of stiffness matrix of the structure. These methods, in addition to being time consuming algorithms, a...
